Thomas Yamada

Thomas Yamada is a Los Angeles-based composer writing for both the screen and the concert stage. He works closely with creatives and ensembles to best serve their vision while creating dramatic, story-driven music.

Recent media projects include scoring the winning Coca-Cola Refreshing Films commercial, “Ticket to Everywhere”, which screened nationwide in the U.S. and Canada in AMC, Cinemark, and B&B theaters, as well as scoring several USC short films and video games. Other collaborations include filmmakers and game developers from Chapman, LMU, and NYU. Yamada has recorded his music ranging from five string players to a 60+ piece orchestra at studios including Warner Bros., Evergreen Studios, and The Village.

In 2026, his concert band work “An Apricot in the Clouds” was performed by The Symphonic Winds of the Pacific under the direction of Dr. Stephen Rochford.

Yamada is pursuing a master’s degree in Screen Scoring at USC. He received an undergraduate degree in Composition from Chapman University.
